The  Ovulation Method Research & Reference Centre of Australia (OMR&RCA), offers a Teacher Training Course that can be done by correspondence.  This course is administered for OMR&RCA by Natural Family Planning Council NT Incorporated.

This course has been designed for those who:

  1. wish to become Accredited Teachers of the Billings Ovulation Method™;
  2. wish to gain information now with a view to Accreditation later;
  3. simply want the information for self knowledge.

The course contains ten theory and practice sessions that can be done in a Trainee's own time, although it is advisable to aim at finishing within 12 months.

You are also offered the opportunity to learn about your own fertility by regular reviews of your Billings Ovulation Method™ (BOM) chart.  This can be done by sending your chart details to your Correspondence Course Supervisor at regular intervals.  All information is treated as strictly confidential.  Although  charting your own fertility gives valuable teaching insights, this service is an optional part of this course.

Providing all criteria are met, accreditation is obtained by gaining supervised clinical experience and on submitting a ‘Case Study’. Trainees are expected to complete all requirements for accreditation within 3 years.

The following materials will be sent to you when you register for the course:
‘The Billings Method’ Dr. Evelyn Billings & Dr. Ann Westmore
‘Teaching the Billings Ovulation Method’ Part 1 Dr E.L. Billings
‘Teaching the Billings Ovulation Method’ Part 2, Dr Evelyn L. Billings and Dr John J. Billings
